Opened on October 02 at
the Medeiros e Almeida Museum, Olharte
is the first photography exhibition of José Lopo de Carvalho, capturing the gaze
of personalities that mark Portuguese public life in all sectors of society. The
work is in black and white and hits you with the power contained in each of the
images. At the age of 64, José Lopo de Carvalho rediscovers a passion for youth
and ventures into an artistic career. This is a work that results from the
curiosity and perseverance of the author, who fell in love with photography in
a post-revolution era marked by emerging artistic and anarchic movements that
have greatly contributed to its cultural structure.
