The Garden-School of Liberty is the name chosen by Yoko Ono for an exhibition that may be seen, between the months of April and October, at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Serralves. The artist and widow of John Lennon, now 86 years old, who was born in Tokyo but lives in the United States, is the most sounding name of the Museum programming for this year. It is the «first great presentation of Yoko Ono's work in Portugal», and it aims to «explore its relationship with architecture and, more importantly, the notion that all her work and masterpieces are distinguished by an architecture of freedom and liberation that challenge all the aesthetic, social and political conventions», as it can be read in the Serralves catalogue for 2020. The Garden-School of Liberty brings together objects, works made of paper, facilities, performances, audio recordings and movies, as well as some archival materials rarely seen before.
