To pay homage to a successful story, which began back in 1887 and is filled with numerous iconic creations, Barbara Monti, the CEO of Eberhard & co, decided to return to the Maison of her roots and, at the same time, celebrate the city that witnessed the prosperity of the Swiss manufacturing. Eberhard & co. was founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds, in Switzerland, considered the cradle of watchmaking culture that has seduced the world. For most of its story, the brand was installed at the Maison de l’Aigle (Eagle's House), one of the most impressive buildings of the watchmaker's core. Now, the company returns to its roots, to inaugurate the first museum dedicated to the brand, an initiative which symbolizes continuity, one of the greatest triumphs of the century-old brand. The date chosen for the inauguration, June 27th, was not a fluke, since it was precisely ten years ago that the Maison was declared historical heritage by UNESCO. The passion for the art of measuring time was materialized in the inaugural exhibition, composed by various models, from the early pocket watches, which not only tested the skills of their founders, but also the first wrist Chronographs, to the most modern models, full of technology, which result of a continuous research led by the brand. Another highlight of the reopening day was Reyner – the eagle on top of the building. The historic bird will continue to reign over the Avenue Léopold-Robert.
