For the first time, on its 6th edition at Torre de Palma Wine Hotel. The International Music Festival of Marvão (FIMM) will have two musical dinners called Prelúdio and Abertura. The event, which is the biggest festival of classical music in Portugal, will happen on 17th (Prelúdio) and 18th (Abertura) of July, in the Basilli, the newly renovated restaurant of that hotel. The baton will be in the hands of the German chef Thorsten Gillert, who will orchestrate a menu inspired by beautiful works of classical music for 45 guests. The renowned chef got inspired by the musical pieces of Igor Stravinsky, Joseph Haydn, Hindemith, György Kurtag, Wolfgang A. Mozart, Zoltan Kodaly and J.S. Bach, for his gastronomic art. Moreover, the menu, which will be served in seven moments, will only be revealed at the event. Interleaved with each plate, there will be a musical moment, played by the musicians in the festival. The programme starts at 6:00 pm with a welcome cocktail, followed by a performance of the artist Vera Mota, from António Melon collection, in partnership with the Museum of contemporary art of Elvas. In this 6th Edition, the FIMM has about 40 concerts and a variety of events for ten days. There are more than 300 artists, another two dozens of nationalities, and this year it will count with the largest participation of Portuguese musicians ever.
