The fifth edition of LisbonWeek, a communication platform which aims to give new life to the districts of Lisbon, will be held between 26th October and 3rd November, in Ajuda, the chosen district to host the 2019 edition, with exhibitions, music, art, unlikely viewpoints, new spaces open to the public for the first time, cultural visits and much more. The LisbonWeek project began in 2012 and aims to give a new life to the districts of Lisbon, bringing to the audience the material and immaterial heritage of the city, unknown and/or little visited by tourist and cultural interventions that raise awareness of the neighbourhoods, their inhabitants and their stories. The Fifth Edition includes free activities as well as paid entrances, whether it’s an iconic place in Ajuda, or an area so far unknown, such as Igreja da Memória, where visitors can, for the first time, climb to the Summit, or the Jardim Das Damas at the rear of Palácio Nacional da Ajuda, which will be open to welcome initiatives these days. The opening of rooms never before visited at the Ajuda National Palace, unique visits to the botanical gardens, designed by experts in various areas (from Botany to architecture), visits to the cemetery, as well as routes that go through several Viewpoints and Ajuda’s Mills, and other initiatives such as exhibitions and art shows, are part of an even stronger and innovative programme.
