For eight years, Ana Ventura Miranda created Arte Institute, a non-profit organization whose main purpose is to promote the Portuguese contemporary culture around the world. The project seemed impossible, but for Ana Miranda nothing is impossible, as figures prove: Along her lifetime, the organization has promoted more than 900 artists, it was present in 35 countries and 85 cities. Rita Red Shoes, The Gift and Dead Combo are just a few names that the Arte Institute has supported in its internationalization.
This year, Ana can finally fulfil another dream, making the first edition of the RHI-Revolution_Hope_Imagination (read in English as «rhino») come true, as being the promoter and the driving force of the project. The initiative aims to accelerate the creation of a new dialogue between Art and Business, Culture and Tourism. In order to do so, various curators, cultural programmers and artists from all over the world. will be meeting in Portugal, between 14th and 21st September 2019. And, because Art does not exist only in the capital, apart from Lisbon, the RHI will also be in Torres Vedras, Caldas da Rainha, Leiria, Óbidos, Alcobaça, Évora, Vidigueira, Loulé, Funchal and Faro. In the various cities that host the initiative some performances, talks and workshops on music, architecture, Design, theatre, cinema, audiovisual, dance, literature, education and citizenship will be taking place. Altogether. there will be 50 workshops (some specifically designed for children) and 75 talks. And because conversation is on a global scale, there are 23 countries involved, already confirmed, apart from the national names, more than 20 speakers and international programmers.
