Between 24th and 27th July, the International Festival Vaudeville Rendez-Vous – the most influential contemporary circus festival of the country – comes back to Vila Nova de Famalicão, Braga and Guimarães and it includes, for the first time, the city of Barcelos. Created and organized by the Didascália Theatre, the event, which will have nine premieres, is free of charge and will have parallel activities to the show revealing, once again, its commitment to the valorisation and projection of contemporary circus. Coming out of a regional force, the festival aims to boost the internationalization of Portuguese culture and artists, through European networks that the festival integrates – CircusNext and Circostrada. Celebrating its debut at the Festival, Barcelos hosts the first show of this Sixth Edition. «A Simple Space» from Gravity & Other Myths (scheduled for 24th July, at 10:00 pm), is one of the six national premieres that will highlight the event, and it will also be the first time that the festival counts with the participation of an Australian company. Seven acrobats are responsible for a «raw, frantic and delicate» performance, presented in an intimate way. The show will also be presented on the 26th July at 10:00 pm, in Guimarães. The Vaudeville Rendez-Vous has the mission to make the community aware of the circus art, as well as the formation of a new audience.
