Born from João Macedo's dream of creating a leading agricultural company, believing in Angola's agricultural potential, Novagrolider is the flagship company of GRUPOLIDER, which operates in the fields of agriculture, transport, construction, furniture and sealing.
Novagrolider views agriculture as the main pillar of a sustainable, strong, and self-sufficient economy. In a country like Angola, with a strong, dynamic, and structured agriculture system and food self-sufficiency, this sector is also capable of generating massive employment and thereby contributing to a secure increase in the population's purchasing power, creating a larger market not only in the primary sector, but also in the secondary and tertiary sectors, thereby boosting other sectors of the economy.
Novagrolider's production model is based on sustainability, both economic and environmental. Novagrolider not only strives to manage resources optimally but also to be waste-free, utilizing all byproducts and residues, whether for animal feed or to produce part of the organic matter used in soil incorporation.
Internally, Novagrolider also produces many of the organic products it uses in its own laboratory, whether for pest control or fertilizing its own fields, thus reducing its dependence on imported products. This is creating an economically and environmentally sustainable ecosystem around its facilities, employing and training hundreds of employees, the vast majority of whom are local, who choose to remain in their hometowns to benefit from the improved living conditions that the establishment of these facilities brings.
Novagrolider has been on a path of constant improvement, adapting its production and operations to best practices, because, on the one hand, it understands that these best practices bring better production results, both in quality and productivity, but mainly in food safety, essential for the sustainability of its activity.
In this sense, the company has sought not only to promote these practices internally, but also to validate them, certifying its production and exposing its products to more demanding markets, such as the European market, where it is regularly present, distributing mainly tropical fruits such as banana, papaya, mango, dragon fruit, pineapple, avocado, guava and passion fruit.
In the specific case of environmental sustainability, Novagrolider seeks to use solutions that ensure better management of basic resources (water, soil, and waste), ensuring not only environmental sustainability but also the productive sustainability of the areas where it operates. To this end, it is constantly seeking new and more efficient solutions, whether in water management, where it uses modern irrigation systems that reduce consumption without compromising production, or in soil management, where it increasingly uses organic products, both in terms of fertilizers and phytosanitary products, ensuring healthy and productive soils, or in waste management, transforming this waste into organic matter for soil improvement.
This approach has enabled the production of a wide variety of quality products, which are suitable for both the domestic market and the international market, demonstrating that Angola is capable not only of producing to ensure food security, but also of producing for export and positioning itself in international markets.
