Arclinea – The Italian art of transforming your kitchen into the heart of the home

At a time in which the space in our home is taking on new meanings, the kitchen has gone from being just a functional place to become the very heart of our lives. It is precisely this vision that forms the basis of Arclinea’s philosophy: to create kitchens that go beyond being mere rooms, and are instead architectural projects designed around the way people live, cook and share moments together.

Founded in 1925 in Caldogno, in the Italian region of Vicenza, the company is the brainchild of Silvio Fortuna Senior, continuing a family tradition that has been associated with furniture since the 19th century. The brand’s evolution has kept pace with changes in the way we live, and in 1960 the name Arclinea – an acronym for Arredamento Razionale Componibile, or rational modular furniture – was officially adopted, reflecting a pioneering vision: treating the kitchen as a true architectural project integrated into the home.
This innovative approach took shape from early on. As early as 1963, the brand presented one of the first modular kitchens with built-in appliances, anticipating trends that today define contemporary design. Over the following decades, Arclinea remained committed to constant research and innovation, always with the aim of responding to developments in the way people live and use their living space.

A decisive moment in the brand’s history came in 1986, when it began collaborating with architect and designer Antonio Citterio. Since then, Citterio has become Arclinea’s main creative reference, coordinating the evolution of the collection and the identity of the brand. This partnership has helped to establish an aesthetic language characterised by technical precision, timeless elegance and a deep understanding of the kitchen as a hub for socialising.
Arclinea’s universe revolves around a clear purpose: to inspire everyday relationships in extraordinary kitchen spaces. The brand strives to spark a passion for cooking through design excellence, creating environments that celebrate shared experiences that revolve around food. More than just kitchens, they provide the setting for moments of togetherness, ritual and pleasure.

Arclinea’s identity is shaped by a series of principles that reflect the brand’s approach to design and living. The so-called ‘project culture’ assumes that each kitchen should evolve into a fully-fledged project, capable of interacting with the architecture of the home and the lives of the people who live there. Sociable functionality is reflected in the creation of efficient and versatile spaces, designed to bring people together and inspire the daily rituals associated with preparing and sharing food.
Another essential cornerstone is ethical design. Arclinea favours long-lasting materials and solutions designed to stand the test of time, reducing environmental impact and promoting a more responsible relationship with resources. Alongside this, constantly evolving creativity ensures that each new product is the result of a continuous process of research and experimentation, anticipating developments in contemporary lifestyles.

Italian heritage naturally remains at the heart of this identity. The culture of design and gastronomy is deeply rooted in the company’s DNA, which preserves Italian craftsmanship traditions while incorporating cutting-edge technologies and materials.

This vision is embodied in the Arclinea Collection, a constantly evolving system where each new product interacts with its predecessors, expanding possibilities and creating a coherent and versatile whole.
At the core of each project there is also a clear functional principle: organising the kitchen according to workflows. The layout of the elements is designed to make movements natural and efficient, accompanying all stages of food preparation. As a result, technical precision and aesthetic quality come together in an experience that combines performance, comfort and beauty.
More than just a kitchen manufacturer, Arclinea sees itself as a creator of spaces where architecture, design and gastronomy come together. Elegant, functional and deeply human environments – places that its customers simply recognise as home.
