Campo de Golfe Pinheirinho - A essência da Comporta num percurso de 18 buracos

Pinheirinho Golf Course - The essence of Comporta played over 18 holes

In the heart of one of Portugal’s best-preserved landscapes, Pinheirinho Golf Course provides an approach to golf that is deeply rooted in the environment that surrounds it. Nestled among golden dunes, centuries-old pine forests, lakes and vast natural areas, this 18-hole course offers an experience where playing golf and the landscape coexist in perfect harmony.

In the heart of one of Portugal’s best-preserved landscapes, Pinheirinho Golf Course provides an approach to golf that is deeply rooted in the environment that surrounds it.

Designed by Portuguese architect Jorge Santana da Silva, the course was engineered to follow the natural contours of the land, merging discreetly into the different settings that characterise this region. Rather than imposing a vision upon nature, the design sought to interpret and celebrate the existing qualities of the site, enabling the course to reveal itself organically as the game unfolds.
This philosophy has been present from the very earliest development stages and was instrumental in the redesign of the original plan. The aim has been to further integrate the course into the landscape, preserving the natural elements that define the identity of this place and encouraging a more balanced relationship between human intervention and the natural heritage.
Diversity plays a central role as you make your way through the course. The characteristics of the terrain are constantly changing, leading players through varied landscapes where dunes, pine forests, lakes and extensive preserved areas create different challenges and visual contexts. Each hole has its own distinct identity, prompting new strategies and creating a constant sense of discovery.

Although it does not quite fit the classic definition of a links course, Pinheirinho Golf Course draws on a variety of influences to forge a unique personality. The rich variety of its natural surroundings, the organic design and the range of playing conditions all make for a challenging, engaging and memorable experience.
Its defining feature, however, comes from the way it respects and enhances the landscape of Comporta. The way it preserves the native vegetation, carefully using natural resources and limiting intervention to what is strictly necessary, reflects a vision that prioritises authenticity and environmental balance. The result is a course that seems as though it has always been part of this landscape.
Playing at Pinheirinho requires accepting the challenge of continually interpreting the course. Precision, creativity and adaptive skills are rewarded in a setting where every round brings new perspectives and reveals details that are easy to miss on a first visit.
Incorporated into PinheirinhoComporta, a destination spanning more than 400 hectares of unspoilt nature, the course represents one of the central experiences of this project. Together with the future Six Senses Comporta, the first Six Senses Residences in Portugal, PIN Comporta and a varied range of outdoor activities, the course contributes to a vision founded on authenticity, wellbeing and a genuine connection with nature.
More than just a golf course, Pinheirinho Golf Course offers a new way of living and discovering Comporta, keeping in step with the rhythm of the landscape and the essence of the place.
