Dior Lady Art – Dez anos de metamorfoses artísticas

Dior Lady Art – Ten years of artistic metamorphoses

An eternal symbol of the sophistication and savoir-faire of the Dior Maison, the iconic Lady Dior handbag once again confirms its status as a platform for aesthetic reinvention and creative expression. Over the past decade, the Dior Lady Art project has transformed this coveted accessory into a unique canvas, upon which contemporary art and haute couture are boldly and poetically intertwined.

Celebrating ten years of artistic metamorphoses, in 2025 Dior presents a special anniversary edition — a vibrant tribute to creative freedom. Ten internationally renowned artists were invited to express their vision of the world, reinterpreting the Lady Dior as a symbol of the fusion between tradition and the avant-garde. Jessica Cannon, Patrick Eugène, Eva Jospin, Lakwena, Sophia Loeb, Inès Longevial, Marc Quinn, Alymamah Rashed, Ju Ting and Lee Ufan — who come from different parts of the world, from France to Korea, or from Brazil to China — make up this diverse group of talents and perspectives, paying tribute to the dialogue between heritage and innovation with their masterful techniques.

An eternal symbol of the sophistication and savoir-faire of the Dior Maison, the iconic Lady Dior handbag once again confirms its status as a platform for aesthetic reinvention and creative expression.

Highlights within this constellation of creative proposals include creations such as Jessica Cannon’s cosmic landscapes, in which solar and lunar ornaments meld harmoniously, or Patrick Eugène’s references to Haitian heritage, with raffia and pearl embroidery that evoke the ‘Pearl of the Antilles’. This deeply collaborative process has made it possible to bring bold ideas to life — such as the stone-carved bag dreamed up by Korean artist Lee Bul — thanks to the unparalleled expertise of the Dior workshops.

More than just accessories, these creations are limited-edition works of art, with only 100 pieces of each model, thus becoming cult objects, prized by collectors and lovers of art and fashion. They are tangible manifestations of the intersection between form, meaning and culture.
As the crowning glory of this celebration, in October the fashion house is launching a book produced by the prestigious publisher Rizzoli: a publication that brings together the interpretations of 99 artists, from 2016 to the present day, centred around Lady Dior. A publication that makes its mark as a genuine manifesto of creativity and diversity.
This symbiosis between art and fashion is deeply rooted in the house’s legacy — Christian Dior began his career as a gallery owner, and this aesthetic vocation continues to resonate in the brand’s DNA. From the famous ‘Le Bal des Artistes’ fashion show, designed by John Galliano, to Maria Grazia Chiuri’s feminist collaborations, art has always been at the heart of the Dior narrative. Today, under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson, this tradition is being expressed in a new language, as seen in the recent collaboration with Sheila Hicks in the men’s collection.

The Dior Lady Art project is not only a celebration of form, but one that honours the idea that fashion can — and should — be a force for cultural expression. This is a constantly evolving legacy, where luxury is transformed into living art.
