Every five years, a country in the world hosts one of the longest, oldest and most acclaimed international exhibitions. 2020 will be the year in which, for the first time, the World Expo takes place in a Middle Eastern country, specifically in the United Arab Emirates. For six months, more specifically 173 days, from October 2020 to April 2021, more than 25 million visitors from 72 nationalities are expected at the long-awaited event. This will be the largest participation ever in a World Expo, which has, so far, the confirmed presence of 192 countries, where Portugal is included. With the motto Connect minds and create the future, Expo Dubai 2020 is intrinsically linked to Dubai's own culture, but there will be three major subthemes: Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability.
