Paulo Abrantes
You recently created the Academia de Formação
(Training Academy), a brand with the purpose of developing the skills of your
network of employees. To what extent has this brought about business
differences for the group?
Our priority has always been to train all the
employees of the various brands in the group. With this academy, our aim is to
improve this area even further. We are committed to certified training given by
certified professionals, which enables all employees to be properly trained,
prepared and qualified, in accordance with their area of activity, with the aim
of being able to provide our customers with outstanding service.
In essence, helping to
improve the living conditions of people seems to be part of your purpose in
life, and we can point, for example, to your support for different causes and
associations, and in particular the Sara Carreira Association...
We have always been
concerned about those who need it most. As part of our social responsibility,
which is a priority for us, we have supported a number of important
associations and causes for greater social inclusion. For several years we have
supported the Gil Foundation, Corações com Coroa and we are currently a
benefactor of the Sara Carreira Association. It is essential that companies
commit to this type of contribution, humanising their operations and creating a
greater spirit of solidarity within organisations.
Who is the man behind
the Managing Director of DECISÕES E SOLUÇÕES Group?
A simple man, who
started working at the age of 18 and who strives to make himself useful and to
help others to have a life that is a little better.
What do you prioritise in life?
What is really important to you?
I devote almost all my time
to my family and work. I like challenges and embarking on new projects that can
help improve other people’s lives. I think the important thing is to never
regret anything that I haven’t done and to enjoy life to the full. At the end
of the day, the most important thing in your life will be everything you have
done for other people.
At
this point in your life, both personal and professional, have you ever felt the
need to take stock? To redefine your course?
Ever since I turned 40, I’ve made a habit of taking stock every six
months of what I’m doing and also of what I want to do. I know that no one can last
forever, not least because we all have an expiry date, so as long as I’m
healthy, my intention will be to make the Grupo DS grow even more in Portugal
and to start preparing its internationalisation process soon.
And when will that be?
We will begin the process of internationalisation as
soon as we reach 800 shops in our country, which in principle will happen at
the end of next year or the beginning of 2026.
