Next September 21st will be the 11th edition of Port of Leixões’ day, an initiative that opens the doors of the harbour infrastructure to the whole city, with activities appropriate for all ages. Between 10:00am and 07:00pm, there will be a lot of activities taking place at the Leixões Cruise Terminal, among which, are the exhibitions Viagem ao princípio ida e volta... 30 anos da Coleção de Serralves, (journey to the beginning roundtrip... 30 years of Serralves collection) APDL. Sentir mais do que um porto, (Feeling more than just a port), the various amusements for children and concerts for kids and adults. This year’s big news are the visits to the Port of Leixões aboard independência, in which visitors will get to know, on a boat ride, more about the port area and the day-to-day of this which is one of the largest ports of the Iberian Peninsula. Visits to ships and an incredible regatta are also part of the programme. The highlight goes to the award ceremony to the best students of Matosinhos (for technical and secondary education) and the winners of the photo exhibition «Feeling more than just a port». CIIMAR (Interdisciplinary Centre for Marine and Environmental Research), located at the cruise Terminal, will also be open doors and visitors will be able to interact with researchers through various activities. The day of the port of Leixões ends at 07:00pm with a Sunset while listening to DJ Jorge Vieira on the terrace of the Terminal, overlooking the sea.
