Held inside Palmela’s castle walls and counting on the presence of about 70 partners, from the North and South of the country, the tourism, gastronomy and wine tourism, projects launched through the UP tourism and UP Taste acceleration programmes, was hosted by Palmela’s city hall and the wines route of the Setúbal peninsula. The host of the initiative, Álvaro Amaro, the mayor of Palmela, reinforced the importance of tourism and all projects related to it, for the region of Palmela, stating that the region is constantly looking for «Different and innovative projects, thus welcoming these is essential and strategic». On its turn, Luis Matos Martins, the CEO of Territórios Criativos, stated that «these acceleration programs have revealed themselves very impactful for the community of entrepreneurs and in the territories in which they are present».
At the same time they were launched, the applications for the programmes were opened, and these will be in roadshow along 50 territories, from the North to the South of the country, to boost training and dissemination workshops.
Tourism UP is an acceleration program that aims to support Tourism related start-ups for business development, fostering innovation and entrepreneurial networks. Taste UP is an acceleration programme designed to support, through training and mentoring, entrepreneurship projects in Gastronomy and Wine Tourism. Its goal is to combine tradition and innovation in gastronomy while working future trends, exploring and applying innovative concepts.
