The Prumo universe has been joined by another
delicious venue, going by the name Brasão Antas. Presenting itself as the fifth
generation of the group, the restaurant boasts a charming terrace and a
pleasant space, along with flavours that do justice to traditional Portuguese
cuisine. It develops over two floors and in which it serves a very old innovation:
francesinha with roast meat.
The journey dates back to 2008, when the group’s
first-born, d’O Paparico, a small restaurant dealing in expressive and
traditional flavours, opened. It was another six years before Cervejaria Brasão
was born, which currently occupies a special place in the hearts of the locals.
Nine years later, Prumo’s most recent space emerges, inspired by timeless and
distinctive materials, thanks to wood, wrought iron, stone and traditional mosaic
tiling. And voilà, the Brasão Antas, a space dedicated to socialising and
enjoying life. With its own bar, serving a wide range of local, craft and
international beers, the venue’s highlight is surely its traditional menu,
which strongly suggests the Francesinha à Antiga. Inspired by the
original version [a famed meat-filled, cheese-coated sandwich doused in sauce],
this version combines roast meat, accompanied by cured sausage, cheese and a
tomato and beer sauce, something that the group guarantees they are not sure if
«it was invented by heaven or if it is an invention out
of the darkness». With diversity in mind, Prumo has incorporated vegan
and codfish dishes into its à la carte service, from the vege-based Pica-pau
de Legumes to the codfish Bacalhau à Cervejeiro. To sweeten the
palate, the Lemon Meringue Pie is the recommendation.
In a mixture of simplicity and minimalism, a
restaurant is born destined for unique experiences, guided by quality and
flavour.
