Espinheiro Convent, Historic Hotel & Spa, located
in the symbolic city of Évora, UNESCO’s
world heritage, not only stands out for its hospitality, elegance and comfort,
but also for its gastronomic creations prepared in their restaurants. In March,
this five star undertakes some special initiatives, such as the Jantar do Dia Internacional da Mulher, (International
Women’s Day dinner) on 8th March, at Divinus Restaurant, or the Jantar do Dia do Pai, (Father’s Day
dinner) on 19th March, at the same place, led by Chef Jorge Peças. Nevertheless, there
are other special days with other special events not to be missed out, like the
workshop de pão alentejano, (Bread
from Alentejo workshop) on 10th March, and the o Chef Convida… a um Evento Gastronómico - Um
Encontro de Sabores, (The Chef invites… to a gastronomic event – A gathering
of flavours) on 30th March.
Creamy pea puree with slow cooked egg, bacon and crunchy onion; Baked veal with potato pastry and wood mushrooms; and strawberry with blackcurrant sorbet soup are part of the International Women’s Day menu, which goes along with a wine harmony experience offered by a hotel expert. On Father’s Day, the menu includes not only the same wine experience, but also some traditional tapas from Alentejo; Beaf steak grilled with sweet potato and rosemary, green asparagus and spinach puree; sweet rice with citrus fruit and basil sorbet.
