Of all the 1571 restaurants that have competed to Portugal’s best flavour 2019, 15 were approved in the categories of meat, fish and rice. These will compete at the grand final on June 17th in the Time Out Market Lisbon, Ribeira Market, where the big winners will be announced. Before a prestigious panel of judges, who will choose the 2019 Portugal’s three Best Flavour(s) in the three categories, the Chefs of these 15 restaurants will prepare each one’s own specialty. The start of the competition can be followed alive on the internet through Unilever Food Solutions facebook page. In the category of meat, two of the finalists are: A Cascalheira restaurant, with the ‘Cascalheirinha’ steak dish, or the Costa Brava Restaurant, with the ‘Steak à La Costa Brava’. In the category of Fish, two of the finalists are David restaurant, with the ‘David’ sea Spaghetti, or the Monte Alegre Restaurant, with the ‘Cod’ Pot Pie dish, etc. In the category of Rice two of the nominees were Cancela Velha restaurant with its ‘rapini rice with Lamb ribs’, and the Radical Restaurant, with its ‘river rice with octupus Fillets’. Each category has five finalists.
