Torre de Palma Wine Hotel, located in the wine region of Alentejo, proposes a different activity, full of history, charm and refinement. The event will take place on November 2nd at that hotel, and will celebrate the story of Saint Queen Isabel, with the presence of Isabel Stilwell, writer/journalist and author of the book Isabel de Aragão – Entre o Céu e o Inferno (Isabel of Aragon – Between Heaven and Hell). The programme promises to take us to the court of Isabel of Aragon. With her contagious passion for Queens, Isabel Stilwell will tell the story of this noble queen, known as patroness of the city of Coimbra. In the hotel restaurant, Basilii, chef Filipe Ramalho will serve a lunch with a menu inspired by the recipes of that time, in which each ingredient had its function in medicine and in the court’s welfare. The programme ends with Isabel Stilwell’s guided tour to the chapel of Saint Queen Isabel in Estremoz. «In the 15th century, in order to appease family relationships, Saint Queen Isabel decided to pass through the hands of Pedro Afonso, the bastard son of D. Dinis, the homestead of Torre de Palma, which today opens its doors to all those who wish to live history», says Isabel Rebelo, the owner of the 5-star wine hotel unit, located in Monforte and member of Design Hotels.
