American start-up Shift Robotics has unveiled the innovative Moonwalkers, devices that attach to shoes and allow you to accelerate your step without needing to expend energy, thanks to the artificial intelligence they incorporate. At the speed of a treadmill, the model resembles a pair of skates, adapting to any foot. According to the project’s engineers, all you have to do is accelerate the speed of the Moonwalkers to go faster, and the other way round to slow down, so there’s no need to balance. The «shoes» perform well not only on level ground, but also on bumpy paths and stone pavements. Deliveries of the Moonwalkers started in the summer of 2023, and they are on the market for around 1,300 Euros.
