Dior opened its first
stores in the Spanish capital in 1986. One of them, originally opened in 2002,
and located at number 6, Calle Ortega y Gasset, in the Salamanca neighbourhood –
one of the most exclusive streets in the city and home to the main luxury
brands – reopened about a year ago, after extensive extension and renovation
works. This just-for-women boutique, which houses the prêt-à-porter and
accessory collections, as well as the exclusive Dior Maison collection, has
grown in size, and become brighter and more luxurious.
The style and vision of
its creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, is reflected in this space. In a
setting inspired by the 18th century, evoking the original Dior
boutique at 30 Avenue Montaigne, modern furniture, neutral colours and
strategic lighting provide the perfect setting to highlight the creations of
the fashion house. The ground floor, at street level, is dedicated to leather
goods, fashion accessories, perfumes, eyewear and various footwear collections,
on display right next to a work by the artist Oyoram. Elegant staircases lead
to the second floor, where the store’s best kept secrets can be found. Parquet
flooring boasting a herringbone pattern extends throughout every room. To the
right, the prêt-à-porter collections;
to the left, a room housing the exclusive Dior Maison collection. On this floor
there is also a luxurious changing room, with a comfortable sofa and surrounded
by mirrors. The final surprise is on a terrace with a peaceful garden, where
moments of rest await you under the Madrid sun.
The boutique is home to accessory and prêt-à-porter collections and the exclusive Dior Maison collection.
