The world’s first 360-degree infinity-edge pool by Compass Pools, was designed to cover a skyscraper in London and it will have a capacity of 600,000 litres, offering stunning skyline views of the city from all sides. Named Infinity London, the pool will be made in cast acrylic and will have side and transparent floors, allowing visitors to watch the swimmers in the pool above them. According to the designer and Technical Director, Alex Kemsley, there will be stairs outside, opting for a spiral staircase that twists and climbs through the water to provide access to all users. The project will be built on top of a five-star hotel and will include a built-in anemometer to monitor the speed of the wind. On the other hand, this will be connected to a computer controlled system, which will ensure that the water does not extrapolate the limits invading the streets below. To control the temperature of the pool, the water will be heated using the residual energy of the building’s air conditioning system.
