Two years after the death of Karl Lagerfeld, who left an undeniable historic legacy for the fashion industry, Jan Koeppen, president of The Walt Disney Company, has announced he is preparing a new project for the streaming platform based on the German couturier. Kaiser Karl is the name of the six-episode series that will premiere on Disney+ at a date yet to be announced. An adaptation of the biography of the same name, published in 2020, it will begin in the summer of 1972. Despite only having become creative director of Chanel in 1983, the first episodes will focus on Lagerfeld’s relationship with the designer Yves Saint Laurent.
