Within the framework of collaboration, Lacoste undertook in 2018 with the International Union for conservation of nature (IUCN) on its common struggle for the preservation of species threatened with extinction, the well-known fashion brand created a ten limited edition polo shirt models, in which the iconic crocodile abandoned the usual location to give its place to ten endangered species. This year, the brand maintains the Lacoste project Save Our Species, turning the spotlight on ten new endangered species to raise awareness, on this topic. The number of Polo shirts produced, corresponds to the current number of specimens of each species remaining in the wild. All profits made from the sale of these polo shirts are designed to support the efforts of the IUCN wildlife preservation. Some brands like JCDecaux One World, Metrobus and Branded Cities associated themselves to this project by giving it more visibility. Also the artist Rone supported this cause with his music Bye Bye Macadam. On May 22nd, the International Day for biological diversity, some shops around the world will be entirely dedicated to a specific species, and at www.lacoste.com the Hawaiian monk seal species outstands for only having 1400 living species.
