The international luxury brand shop has reopened its doors in Cascais, after being closed for several months for refurbishment works. The move comes at a time when the cosmopolitan town is gaining even more prominence as a luxury destination. There is the promise of a sophisticated concept, with new brands being added to the catalogue.
Loja das Meias was founded on Rossio Square in Lisbon in 1905. Today, it can look back over a century-old history, where memories are dressed in fine fabrics and accessories. Loja das Meias has been part of the luxury fashion world for more than 120 years, so the Cascais project is a good place to start if you want to delve deeper into the concept.
The renovation project was designed by Cardinali & Gazzabin Architects, who took advantage of the light to bring the space to life. According to the architects, Loja das Meias is a dialogue between the land and the sea. The lines and colours are soft throughout the interior, the fabrics are made of cotton and the rugs are handmade from natural fibres. The scent of Baobab candles accompanies the entire visit, as does the personalised service, which greets anyone visiting with Moët&Chandon champagne. There is also a new lounge area, which doubles as a fitting room. The central area features pieces by Celine, Loewe, Balmain, Givenchy, Dolce&Gabbana and Ferragamo, but the context quickly changes when you step out onto the veranda, where a younger vibe is underlined by pieces fromJacquemus and JW Anderson. Going up to the second floor, there is an alternative aura, with Zadig&Voltaire and AMI Paris in the spotlight for men and women.
