Celebrating Portuguese jewellery for 30 years, Portojoia will have its 30th Edition next September, from 26th to 29th, at Exponor, Matosinhos. This is the main jewellery showroom in the Iberian peninsula this year, whose motto will be Roots and Wings which aims to give a closer look to traditional techniques that differentiate the sector and new trends that give rise to a more global and innovative vision. This is the balanced dichotomy that, at the same time, value the ancestral techniques and also highlight the versatile pieces marked by globalisation and multiculturalism. The inheritance of a tradition which is adapting to new consumption concepts, without ever losing its essence.
This event will also count with Trend Spot – a space where all the jewellery related to the four trends: Roots & Wings, Mentes Viajantes, Soft Power – the intellectual rebel and Spirituality – and Art & Jewels will be displayed. This is an initiative that Portojoia released in its last edition that aims to promote partnerships between jewellery and other creative sectors, like fashion, decoration, illustration and pottery. During the event the prize for Best Of 2019, which recognizes the talent and creativity of the sector, will be awarded.
