Since 2009, the watchmaker Panerai annually launches a limited edition in honour of the animal that, according to the Chinese horoscope, represents each year. If in the first year of the initiative the animal represented was the Pig, this year is the Rat. The model chosen was the Panerai Luminor Seland and the animal was hand engraved on the steel cover of each model. The process took about 50 hours for each watch and was carried out with a kind of scalpel, with which small incisions were made, then filled with gold wires. The brushed steel box measures 44mm and the bracelet is calf leather with beige seam. This edition is limited to 88 units.
