It took place for the first time in 1998 and since then the Goldene Unruh (Golden Balance) initiative has claimed itself as one of the oldest and most prestigious public awards in the watch industry to international level, annually electing the best watches in the world in Munich, Germany. This year's vote at the event gave Ms Lange & Söhne, more specifically to the Zeitwerk Date watch, the first prize in the «watches priced over 25,000 euros» category. Zeitwerk Date bears a mechanical manual rope movement, Calibre L043.8, 70 rubies, 18,000 alt./h, with 72 hours of rope reserve. Zeitwerk Date comes in a 44.2 mm white gold case and the bracelet is on alligator skin with also white gold buckle. Since 1998, A. Lange & Söhne has won 37 awards in several categories in this revered competition.
