Private luxury cruises on the River Douro, between the banks of the city of Oporto, the Gaia Quays and the Douro Wine Region, are already a winning formula in nautical tourism in the region. Proof of this is the work done by Invictus Cruises, the sector’s premium operator, taking curious passengers and fans of this type of travel up and down the river. Whether for a programme for two or in a group, the result is only one: a monumental and scenic experience. And recently, joining the Invictus GT370 model, a new acquisition has arrived: the TT460 – which we had the opportunity to see up close –, a joint investment of 1.5 million Euros by Ondastar and Colorstar Group in the company that promotes these luxury programmes – Invictus Cruises –, which now has two luxurious boats for incredibly irresistible trips.

In the whole world, only 22 units of the TT460 from Invictus Yacht, an Italian luxury brand, have been sold, and one of them is in Portugal, cruising the waters of the Douro. This model fascinates us from the outset with its simple lines and unique shapes, a well-defined silhouette. It is 14 metres long by 4.43 wide, with room for up to 12 passengers. Besides this, the new model is composed of an interior cabin with WC; hydraulic bathing platform with shower; two beds; sofas; refrigerator in the cockpit; solarium at the bow and stern for sunbathing and a sound system that completes the scenario, making the atmosphere on board this yacht even more exclusive. By booking in advance, you can also plan your trip and have on board a catering service, wine tastings, breakfasts, business meals, etc.
According to Patrícia Carvalho, manager of Invictus Cruises, the idea is to «promote the Oporto and Douro brand internationally in the luxury market, both for foreign and national tourists». These cruises can be requested using the brand’s online platform, at agencies, hotels and tour operators. In addition to the existing pre-defined programmes, such as a two-hour or full-day cruise, which cost between €480 and €980, it is also possible to organise and customise another type of programme, according to the client’s requirements.

The nautical tourism company, based in the Douro Marina, in Vila Nova de Gaia, was founded in 2021, in the middle of the pandemic, and the team is confident for its future, in which the goal is to keep growing. And who knows, more news may be revealed soon. One thing is certain though, this is the ideal trip to celebrate good times among friends and family, or simply to celebrate life.
