Eduarda Silva
Head of Ensanis
Eduarda Silva has a degree in Dental Medicine, postgraduate training in Implantology and Oral Rehabilitation, as well as in Healthcare Facility Management. She has also attended several training courses in Portugal, Spain, Latin America and Asia. She is head of Ensanis, a clinic that is a leading name in the area of dental medicine, but with many other skills, where a first-rate multidiscipline team, which is constantly training and which focuses on technology, works towards the same ideal of quality and excellence.
Ensanis came into being 14 years ago. How would you assess the company’s performance in this time?
Over these years we have sought to make ongoing investments in technology, innovation and professional training. We have built a multidiscipline team, which is a family, with its own working protocol and we have forged partnerships with well-established institutions and companies, as we have the same ideal of quality and excellence, which allows us to offer mindful and personalised service. What counts is not who we are, but what we do.
Dental medicine has long ceased to be the only reason people go to clinics. What other areas does Ensanis cover?
Patients come to us because they know our opinion is exactly the same as if we were to give it to someone in our family. And this is the case in any of the clinic’s specialities, such as Dental Medicine, General Medicine, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Aesthetics, Visagism, etc. People also come to us in very serious situations, such as patients with the most varied kinds of cancer, or patients who have undergone previous treatments that have not gone well, and also patients who have developed para-functional habits, such as clenching and grinding their teeth, leading to occlusal disorders.
«What counts is not who we are, but what we do»
How important is technology in clinics?
In healthcare everything evolves quickly and we need to be attentive and know how to keep up with developments in an intelligent manner, taking as much advantage of it as possible, in the interests of all the benefits we can pass on to our patients. Nowadays we can do fabulous things.
What would be a very happy day for you in your working life?
A very happy day is when parents tell us that, ever since we taught their child how to brush properly, he insists on brushing his teeth, even when he is tired and demands that his parents do the same – meaning, we are doing our utmost in promoting oral health. It is when a patient embraces you, saying «thank you», almost speechless and with tears in their eyes – meaning that our effort has been worth it. It is when one patient brings us another one – meaning, they are satisfied and that there we have relationship of trust. A happy day is always when we get a smile of satisfaction and a sincere «thank you».
Are there any projects that Ensanis is planning for the near future?
We will continue to focus on new technology associated with research and to invest heavily in training. We will also have new things at the clinic soon.
