A clinic by the seafront
Karina Leite
Fundadora do Instituto Karina Leite
When I decided to open a dental practice in Portugal, I took great care to look for an area close to the capital and preferably by the sea. I chose the municipality of Oeiras, in Paço de Arcos, near the Parque dos Poetas and, of course, close to the sea and the marina. I was also mindful that there should be shops and a business hub nearby, namely the Oeiras Parque Shopping Centre and Tagus Parque. It was important for the practice to be located in one of the municipality’s prime areas, so that patients could enjoy a wide range of services in the immediate vicinity of the Instituto Karina Leite - Dental Clinic.
The aim of this was to enable our clients to take advantage of our services, while at the same time being just a short walk away from being able to enjoy a stroll along the seafront or riverside, walk along the promenade, or even go for a walk in the marvellous Parque dos Poetas.

The second concern centred on creating a good team and setting up the clinic with good equipment and advanced technology, able to provide services with quality and speed, so that patients would be satisfied and become loyal. For this reason, we always try to keep up with the latest trends in the evolution of dentistry, in terms of training and advances in science and, of course, technology, which is increasingly important in the field of dentistry.
Oral health is a priority when it comes to people’s happiness, just like a good walk by the sea or in nature, because it motivates us and makes us feel better. For this reason, extra care must be taken with dental hygiene, which is essential for maintaining healthy teeth and gums and avoiding most diseases of the mouth and even the body (since the mouth is the entry point for bacteria into the digestive and respiratory systems). Brushing your teeth daily and flossing are basic rules and should never be neglected. As a dentist, I strongly advise people to go to the dentist at least once a year, from the time their first tooth emerges, in order to prevent any disease developing in the teeth or gums, not least because prevention is always easier than treatment. Chewing all your food properly is also very important.
Afterwards, you can enjoy your walk full of confidence and vitality, with a beautiful smile on your face, and live a marvellous life.
