At 100 metres above the frontline of the Atlantic Ocean, this golf course will inspire you to hit some memorable shots. Founded in 1997, Old Head Golf Links was meticulously designed by John and Patrick O’Conner as a way of combining the best of two worlds: the splendour of nature and the nobility of golf. 
Stood on Irish soil, in Kinsale, Old Head provides one of the most desirable golfing experiences in the world. By this we mean a breath-taking adventure, which takes place on a peninsula that stretches over three kilometres into the ocean. In fact, its appearance is deceptive, as it looks more like an island, made up of caves and surrounded by the cyan blue of the sea. 
The links and practice area take up approximately 180 acres, which combine with the remaining 40 acres of unspoilt cliffs, incorporated as an honorary backdrop to the game. With its verdant fairways, cared for by sophisticated irrigation systems geared towards sustainable practice, the golf course boasts 18 holes. But there are more details waiting to be revealed, guaranteed to be of importance for any daring players out there. Nine of the holes are located at the top of the peninsula, providing close contact with the bracing breeze and the magnificence of the ocean.

But make no mistake, the wind is a constant presence, which means it won’t make your mission any easier. In case you are afraid of heights, we advise you to avoid looking down, and bear in mind that the game is it be played ahead of you, and any shaking would not be your best ally. This is a par 72 course, made up of five par 5s, five par 3s and eight par 4s, with a minimum of six tees per hole, characteristics that make it suitable for golfers of all abilities. The minimum required handicap is 24 for men and 36 for women, and the course is set up on daily, depending on prevailing weather conditions. It is indeed a test for those who yearn for something greater in the golfing universe, a course that challenges the adrenaline and a view that nourishes the soul. And as if that weren’t enough it includes facilities with a warm-up area, putting green and a short game practice area. The venue also provides the Clubhouse, which offers attentive service from the Old Head team, focused on meeting the needs of its golfers.
