Axis Golfe Ponte de Lima hosted the World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC), on June the 3rd, a tournament that saw the participation of 68 players. After a challenging match on the course, one of the teams representing Villas&Golfe magazine took top place on the podium, thus securing its participation in the national final, on July the 8th, at Royal Óbidos. Among the 34 teams present, the team of Sérgio Magalhães and José Domingos Alves came in first place, with 69 points, making V&G very proud. «Taking part in the WCGC is a fantastic and unique experience,» said José́ Domingos Alves, and Sérgio Magalhães, confidently added that, «the finals are there to be won».
As is usual in WCGC tournaments, the blue ball, featuring the phrase: «That’s the One», a gift from Btravel, was awarded to one of the participants. This time it went to João Ribeiro, who won an experience in the Sports Legends Cup, in Tenerife, from the 3rd to the 6th of October.
The WCGC is a highly reputed amateur tournament, in the corporate segment, both nationally and internationally. It has been running for 30 years and is held in several countries. This time, the event took place in the north of Portugal, with Golf Concept as the event’s organisation team.
In the WCGC tournaments, various teams from the business world compete, which, apart from playing for podium places, have the opportunity to make business contacts and get to know prestigious brands, many of which are partners of the event.
The next qualifying round will take place on the 17th of June at Santo da Serra Golf Club, on the Island of Madeira. Have a great game!
